We Are Different, But We Are One

On a tree our life began, but of different hosts
A composite relationship of two separate worlds
But together, we are one

On a tree our life continues, to that a life unknown
I am a fungus and you are algae and together we are one
Our life together is that of harmony and not to be confused as a plant

On a tree our life evolves and a lichen we become
No roots do we need for water, for that we create our own
Photosynthesis feeds our appetite in which we will grow

Our relationship is so productive in fact
We may live for an eternity
And when man has come and gone, you can use our life to determine history.

Bees In the Courtyard

Dear Bee where do you go?
My heart looks to the flower, the petal, the stamen
To spread your everlasting knowledge and love
But alas, the courtyard is void of these pleasures

Dear Bee what do you do?
Now that your heart is missing and your purpose dissolved
What meaning do you seek in the world?
But alas, the courtyard is barren of your dreams

Dear Bee now you have died
Your life so empty and barren of truth
The dreams, purpose, and identity were all that you knew
Such is the case when you know not of exploration but of genetics

Dear Bee anticipate your rebirth
But sadly your mission and fate will be much the same
For that Bee that we know is ever fleeting
My tears flow like the honey you make
